Based on recognition for the work performed in the shipping and port areas, this office has specialised in assisting clients involved with port and off-port terminal operations, with shipping carriage and trade, in general.

Advising foreign and domestic companies in analysing, reviewing, drawing up and negotiation of domestic and international contracts.

Maritime and Port Law
legal counseling rendered to shipping companies, port terminals and port operators, importers and exporters. Drawing up of carriage contracts, port infrastructure utilization contracts, such as goods warehousing and handling (port operation), representation of foreign companies (cargo agents), both in court and as consultants.

International Law
Ratification of foreign court decisions, including expert’s reports and compliance with rogatory letters, as well as appeals in cases lodged with the Supreme Federal Court. In Brazil, arranging to serve notice of process and filing of documents as requested in cases submitted to foreign jurisdiction. Guidance and follow up of defence of Brazilian companies before foreign courts.

We also function in administrative cases before governmental authorities interacting with maritime port activity, such as: Special Port Secretariat, Customs and Bureau of Internal Revenue, ANTAQ, CODESP (Port Authority), CETESB (Environment Protection Agency) ANVISA (Health Authority), Regional Labour Agency (DRT), Labour Ministry, Maritime Court and Port Captaincy.
